Oden-den-den-den-den

Oden den den den den, originally uploaded by madbaki.

Makes Japanese winters bearable!

What a post, ne? And it's late again. Like always.

I'll try and keep this weekly. That said, it'll probably be nonsense like this shit.

It's late, i know...

...but it's better than waiting a year. I think.

So yeah, last time I was taking about sports day. The "guido" picture is one of my elementary school students. Ain't she just the cutest thing? Let me tell you, the elementary schools here are straight cute factories. A.R.P is old news. C.R.P is where it's at (someone tell Josh to get started on this...).

Around this time of year, most of the schools in Japan have this sports event where they divide the school up in to teams and do random (sometimes weird ) sports, most of which have to do with running. The teachers are also involved, and the whole thing is about supporting and cheering each other on.

From the pictures i've seen, most sports days tend to be pretty much the same. The highlights at most junior high schools are the girls dance:

And the boys stance:

There are more pictues, but it's a pain to upload right now.I'll post the link to my flikr later.

Anyways, at the schools that I go to, some of the "sports" seem pretty dangerous. When you've got at least one kid that can't get up after an event (other than running), you'd think they'd make some changes for the next year. Hard core dude. This kid got twerk'ed:

Anyways, every team has a color, and every color has a mascot. Most schools use typical Japanese characters (dragons, gods, etc.), and that seemed to be the case for the 12 schools in my area. Examples from one of my junior high schools:

At my main junior high school, I was placed on the Yellow team. One of my favorite teachers at the school (9th grade English teacher) was the leader of the team, and he is a bit crazy (in a good way). When I first heard his idea for the yellow team mascot, I thought he was joking. When I saw the giant banner being made, I thought it was the greatest mascot ever.

1 Year Later....

Yeah, so i've been meaning to get this up since last year, but have been just to lazy to do so. It's easy as hell, but i'm a slo-bro, and just put it on the back burner.
Anyways, i'm putting this up for the peoples in the homelands that are curious as to what i'm up to. And when I say peoples, i mean all 1 of you. Don't worry though, because this will probably only last for one post. I'll try to keep it up, but i ain't promising anything.

That's it for now (what?). I'm tired as hell, and sunburned (i think the title of "African Princess" should now be mine...). Three days of "sports day" will do that to you. WTF am I talking about? Pictures of the brutality soon. Till then Japanese baby guido action:
